
According to a local newspaper article written about her while playing one of the leads in the local Wexford pantomime at only 11 years old, Tara Mc Namee has always been destined for Hollywood. Her love of film and the arts has always been strong.
While growing up and in between academic studies Tara took part in many pantos, light opera productions, ballet displays and school operettas. She is a classically trained vocalist and has sang in the world renowned Wexford Opera Festival three times. She also studied drama and achieved first class honours in the many exams she took for the Leinster School of Music and the Guildhall of London.
Tara also experienced the film world from a very early age, having been an extra on many productions like Crime Pays, Kaos and Circle of Friends to name but a few.
After working in the make-up department on Saving Private Ryan, Tara decided to take her career further and was accepted at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Ireland, from which she graduated with a distinction in TV and Video Production specialising in directing and producing.
Since then she has worked her way up through the ranks from trainee AD to 2nd AD and now producer. She has worked in Ireland, England, Malta and Morocco.
Tara has worked on a variety of productions including The Abduction Club, Random Passage, Custers Last Stand Up, Tristan and Isolde, Troy, Asylum, Reign of Fire and Saving Private Ryan, and for production companies including BBC, RTE, ABC, Channel 4, Warner Brothers, Dreamworks, Touchstone Pictures, Hallmark, Disney and Spyglass Entertainment.
In addition to the above Tara is also a published photographer with a particular interest in abstract and graphic design who regularly exhibits her work.
