David McGeary trained as an engineer, specialising in electronics. After leaving college he joined a Special Effects company, 1st Effects, at Shepperton Film Studios and has been working as a Special Effects Technician for the past ten years.
David works mainly in England, but his work has also taken him to Ireland, Malta, Morocco, Thailand, Hungary and Mexico.
He has worked on productions including Munich, Reign of Fire, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Troy, Band of Brothers, Dinotopia, McCallum and Hidalgo, and for production companies including Dreamworks, HBO, BBC, Channel 4, Warner Brothers, Disney, Hallmark and Spyglass Entertainment.
David has done fireworks and pyrotechnics displays for Alton Towers and both corporate and private functions.
He is also a composer and photographer.
